Who is this conference for?

Are you a psychologist, social worker, licensed professional counselor, nurse, public health practitioner, or chaplain? The 2023 Comprehensive Moral Injury Conference (CMIC) will help bridge the gap in knowledge by presenting introductory and intermediate level instruction on MI research, assessment tools, and interventions being used by thought leaders and practitioners. This conference takes a holistic, collaborative approach to MI. Regardless of where clinicians, chaplains, and therapists work, they are likely to encounter a person with MI and should understand how to identify it, as well as help the person or get them the care they need.

What is moral injury?

Moral Injury is a condition being talked about with more frequency. In 2009, it was Brett Litz who brought this condition to the forefront. He described moral injury as involving acts of transgression that create dissonance and conflict because it violates assumptions and beliefs about what is right and wrong and personal goodness. Moral injury is a syndrome that often occurs in the setting of trauma, such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), but MI is distinct and separate from PTSD” (Dr. Harold Koenig, Select Proceedings Book from the 2020 Women Veterans Military Moral Injury Conference).

Warfare, violent uprisings, COVID-19, and social justice issues have wreaked havoc on people’s souls and emotional health. Many are feeling morally injured and it is chaplains and faith leaders, psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors, doctors, and nurses who are standing in the gap and treating these injured people. In the process, many of these care providers are also experiencing moral injury.

MISSION STATEMENT⚕️

GPP THINKTANK |
Our mission is the unifying definition of the moral injury construct to address suicide in veteran, and wider civilian populations. The provision of a universal lexicon that can articulate “moral grammar” for the epoch-defining emergence, and psychological articulation, of Moral Injury.

Collaboration with international centers of excellence, including the International Centre for Moral Injury and United States War College, Washington.

Moral Injury is a disruption to the psyche from the will to truth that has become conscious of itself as a problem in us. Deeply embedded substructure psychologies, that for the West emerge over two thousand years as synchronous psychological concomitants of the Christ-figure. For to be sure, Nietzsche would have agreed with Jung when he says; “man can suffer only a certain amount of culture without injury.”

Great Philosophical Problems ThinkTank will articulate a Moral Grammar derived from Friedrich Nietzsche. A lexicon obtained from a cipher the author embedded in his works that utilizes the power of the A-E-I-O-U Bible method and Vedanta-philosophy. A way suffers can form a relationship with the four main questions for the Christian psyche concerning strength in the inner being; what is the Breadth and Length and Height and Depth?

While soldiers provide the coal face psychology for Moral Injury today, just as PTSD before, such a assignation will not be restricted to such cohorts. Moral Injury represents the great difficulty looming for the contemporary Western consciousness, where not only the rationality of millennia – but also its madness, breaks out in us – where dangerous is it to be an heir.
