Human Resources Specialist

Job Description

The Human Resources Specialist will work directly with the CEO to identify talented volunteers and interns to fill critical personnel shortages. This person will also learn how to apply federal and state law to the Human Resources and non-profit fields.

Key Tasks

Manage Internship Program: Maintain list of internship positions on the website, in Hand- shake and on social media platforms. Screen applications and conduct initial inter- views with applicants. Make recommendations to the CEO on applicants.

Maintain Relationships with HR Professionals: Develop and maintain relationships with Human Resources professionals in universities and organizations that could provide talent and that MISNS could send experienced volunteers to work for.

Marketing Specialist

 Job Description

Marketing is the lifeblood of the organization. Marketing Specialists report to the Director of Marketing, use social media platforms to market the organization and its services, create engagement products such as newsletters and flyers, manage email distribution campaigns, and generate ideas for new promotions.

Key Tasks

Social media operations: Use a variety of social media platforms to engage current customers, expand the reach of the organization, generate discussion about women veteran issues, and increase the donor base.

Fundraising: Use marketing tools to bring in donations to support research and veteran support initiatives.

Create marketing products: Work with the Director of Marketing to develop digital marketing products, such as newsletters, flyers, and ads.

Education Specialist

Job Description

Providing continuing education for chaplains, psychologists, social workers, clinicians and counselors is a crucial part of MISNS’ work. The Education Specialist will work directly with the CEO to develop curriculum, evaluations, testing materials, and certificates for continuing education programs. The Education Specialist will also help with enrollments and attendance tracking.

Key Tasks

Online education program: Transform the recordings of live conferences into online continuing education programs by developing interactive content, learning objectives, and checks on learning.

Support network training: Enroll new support providers and staff in the training program, manage the system that tracks attendance and completion, and update curriculum.

Future CE programs: Assist in developing program concepts, identifying speakers, and applying for certifications through provider associations.

Conference Planning Specialist 

Job Description

MISNS hosts two conferences per year. One conference brings together professionals in the veteran support industry to talk about the latest research and interventions for moral injury. The other conference is for women veterans suffering from moral injury. The second conference helps veterans learn more about how moral injury might be affecting them and how they can get support.

Key Tasks

Comprehensive Moral Injury Conference: Work with the CEO and planning committee to develop the conference concept, identify presenters, develop the agenda, and create the conference book.

Moral Injury Weekends: Work with the CEO and planning committee to identify the location and hotel space; coordinate for audio visual equipment, meals, and transportation; and manage the registration process.
